Just discovered that when using PHP-CS-Fixer as a formatter in PhpStorm, it ignores the excluded files from the config, and there’s no built-in way to change this—except by using a File Watcher, which causes lag.
Even better: JetBrains is aware of the issue but won’t fix it due to "no interest." Perfect. 🙃

You can select the config in the PHPStorm settings, just search for phpcsfixer there and select the config for it to also recognize it when using it in the IDE

Just realized that PHPStorm keeps breaking SQL queries in PHPDocs because it doesn’t respect ignored files and applies `align_multiline_comment`, adding unwanted asterisks.
Meanwhile, a senior dev insists on keeping the old formatting for "readability"—rather than preventing a bug when formatting. 🤦♂️
